How to Pay Your MEPCO Bill Online

After checking your bill, you can pay it from your phone in a few minutes. Below are the common ways to pay, with steps for each. Whichever you use, you will need the 14-digit reference number from your bill.

Before you pay

  • Check the amount and due date on your online bill.
  • Make sure your account or wallet has enough balance.
  • Keep the 14-digit reference number ready.

Bank apps

Most banks in Pakistan, including HBL, UBL, MCB, Allied Bank, Meezan Bank, Bank Alfalah and Bank of Punjab, let you pay electricity bills in their app or internet banking.

  1. Log in to your bank app.
  2. Open Bill Payments, then Electricity.
  3. Choose MEPCO as the company.
  4. Enter your reference number and fetch the bill.
  5. Check the name and amount, then pay.
  6. Save the receipt or take a screenshot.

JazzCash and Easypaisa

  1. Open the app and log in with your PIN.
  2. Go to Bill Payments, then Electricity.
  3. Select MEPCO.
  4. Enter your reference number.
  5. Check the details, pay, and save the receipt.

SadaPay and NayaPay

Both wallets have a bills section. Search for MEPCO, enter your reference number, check the amount and pay. Save the confirmation.

ATM

  1. Insert your card and enter your PIN.
  2. Choose Bill Payment, then Electricity, then MEPCO.
  3. Enter your reference number and confirm the amount.
  4. Keep the printed receipt.

Bill payment options at ATMs differ between banks. If you do not see the option, use your bank’s app instead.

Bank or post office counter

Take the paper bill, or a printed copy of the online bill, to a bank branch or post office that accepts utility bills. Pay at the counter and keep the stamped copy as proof.

After you pay

Keep your receipt or screenshot until the next bill arrives. A payment can take a day or two to show. If the next bill shows the amount as arrears even though you paid, take your receipt to the sub-division office.

If you pay late

  • A late payment surcharge is added, and the higher amount printed on the bill applies.
  • The unpaid amount is carried to your next bill as arrears.
  • Continued non-payment can lead to disconnection, and a reconnection fee may apply.

Is paying online safe?

Do I need a bank account?

Can I pay from abroad?

Yes, through a Pakistani bank app or wallet that works overseas, using the reference number.

Can I pay in installments?

Only with approval from your sub-division office. It cannot be arranged online.
